It's been a Holi to remember. Tiring...and happy! My right hand and left foot are green, and left hand and right foot are pink... Makes me believe I'm one with nature and its balance. It's a good balance of colours too...goes with my pink face and neck. :)
Ought to get some well deserved sleep now. Mum needs to be dropped off to the bus stand at 6:30.
Hope you've all had a memorable and fun filled festival of colours too! Don't try to wash the colours off! In line with previous post, I'm too attached to Blogger to just let it go, and I love tumblr's simplicity and reblog feature. So I don't know how, but I'm going to try and manage both the blogs and keep them in sync.

There was some cleaning up done in both the blogs and this one especially seems less cranky now.

How have you blog-fellows been?
Cya around!
HydrogenPopshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02342687960677598428noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2664081448722942912.post-11910056223106654012010-03-15T19:07:00.003+05:302012-03-10T19:26:45.021+05:30Confusion *How on earth does one write about it? No...seriously! Like there aren't enough confusing things already! The IPL, for example!! How exactly does one decide which team to support? First of all, they're all Indian teams. To add to that, one team has an ex-captain who the entire country is emotionally attached to, another team has the best spinner the country has produced, yet another one has the most destructive batsman there is...and then one team has God himself. So one spends the whole 3 hours watching the match in nail biting excitement and ends up not knowing whether to be happy for the team that won or sad for the team that didn't!

And then there are the unavoidable commercials between overs. What exactly are you trying to sell, good sir? And why are they carrying away a packet of fast food on a stretcher!? And why....WHY would you want to rub salt in the wounds of an already confused mind?!

One could talk to some less confused friends to understand the ads...but only if the cell phone plans weren't so confusing! Different rates for calls to landlines and cellphones, local numbers and STD numbers, subscribers of the same service provider and different service provider, and different rates for day calls and night calls!! ... and then there are scores of SMS schemes! God help us!

Wait...which god?!

The proverb does say curiosity killed the cat, but with how things are, it seems very likely that confusion killed the cat – and then confused people into believing that curiosity did it. Whatever it may be, this cat is certainly going to die of confusion.
(* Another HomeWork. ;) )Unknownnoreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2664081448722942912.post-12180394174324840742010-03-05T11:43:00.001+05:302012-03-10T19:26:45.036+05:30Stupidity..*...is pretty easy to come by. There's an example right in front of you – my trying to write about it. In my defence I'd like to say, arguing about the topic with the teacher wasn't an option. So, i might as well get on with writing about it. Because not writing would be...well, stupid more than anything else. Though I could use my being human as an excuse for acting stupid and not writing this. Because being human makes me as immune to stupidity as Windows is to viruses. I've noticed people worry more about the viruses than about their own stupidity. Seeing how important a part of life technology has become (seriously, imagine a day without updating your tweets!), it seems valid to worry about them more. It's stupid actually – being so dependent on technology – don't you think? And it's surprising how something can sound logical and stupid at the same time. Goes to show how versatile stupidity can be! It's like an eerie force that is constantly looking for ways to express itself. And humans seem to be soft targets too. The great Albert Einstein put it beautifully when he said that there were two things that were infinite – the universe and human stupidity and he wasn't too sure about the former. A seriously intelligent remark. But intelligence is the opposite of stupidity. So stupidity can actually pull intelligence to it's side. I leave you with that scary thought. Hail Stupidity.

(* ...err... just something I was given to write on.)Unknownnoreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2664081448722942912.post-26623843613045452562009-11-16T19:17:00.000+05:302012-03-10T19:27:06.162+05:30Hmm??Am i versatile ? Or am i clueless ?Unknownnoreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2664081448722942912.post-39387669724670302292009-11-12T23:16:00.005+05:302012-03-10T19:27:12.164+05:30Ye Gyaan bhi kabhi Gobbledygook tha

I have been meaning to write for a while now. But translating gobbledygook into englees.. well, it's tough! But do you see me giving up? No. Of course, when you see me give up, you probably won't see me (give up).

Ok, coming to the pointlessness ... I'm just trying to put my thoughts into perspective here.. and i accept that i fall prey to what i'm against too ..but i don't quite understand why people try to explain their art...and why other people are suckers for the explanation. The work will speak for itself (and probably make people speak about it too) if it is good. And if it isn't, the explanations just make it annoying. Why would one want to back up a below average piece of art...or even a truely brilliant piece for that matter... with fancy words? Any kind of visual art has several meanings...probably as many as the number of people who see it. A few words from the artist to lead the audience to his general thoughts are ok..but confining the creation to a particular idea only does gross injustice to it.

The same logic would apply (almost as strictly) when this is viewed the other way round. Making up for bad writing with a picture flicked off the net...or using a picture to add on to an already great work. Why fix a picture in the minds of the readers when they can otherwise draw much more beautiful and more fluid pictures in their minds with those words alone?

When i see or read something it becomes mine - in the sense that i can choose to view it in any form i like... and draw my own conclusions...or just ponder over it aimlessly...that is, in either case, exercise my mind.

If both mediums are used together, they inhibit the viewer's creativity...and one of them, therefore, is redundant.

Redundant creativity - now that's a scary thought!

THIS BLOG IS ALIVE !

I had nothing to write about in a long long time. Then, along came a tag ! :D

I was tagged on Flickr and had to post a photo of myself and write 10 things about myself. I've done something like that here before but I'll do it again anyway. Because repeat telecasts can be Good.

1. I am a girl. (i dont think many people on flickr knew that until recently)

2. I love comics! :D

3. I bite my nails. :-/

4. While writing, i think i scratch off things more frequently than an average person. (Now, even my picture has scratches.)

5. I am very particular about the order of tabs in my browser. It's like a recently developed OCD-thing.

6. My latest craze is street photography!

7. I wish i knew some photography enthusiasts so we could make a club-thing and go photographing.

8. I love quotes. ["Reality is for people who are out of touch with comics"]

9. Though blabbering about myself comes naturally to me, writing 10 things is turning out to be difficult!

10. Tenth point at last! I know i can think of something !! I know i can .. wait! ... bah, forget it.

---------------------------------

Ok. The latest goings on are:

# I've made a blog on tumblr for photographs. In case you're interested, you can subscribe to it/add it to your blogroll.

# I had two colourful shiney beetles as pets a while back. Had to let them go coz they metamorphosised (not sure if that's the word. what is?) into bigger green forms with wings.
(i'd seen these green forms earlier but until the metamorphosis happened, i used to think that they're a different species.)

# I talk to Gutur like he's a person and understands human language...even though pokes me with his beak and he flies back to his perch-thing everytime i do that. I also sing songs to him.

# I use lines like "The coffee is feeling happy" inbetween a normal conversation.

Have i turned into a full fledged weirdo?
Go comment. Please.
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com13tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2664081448722942912.post-9584396264177348662009-07-10T16:58:00.003+05:302012-03-10T19:27:02.618+05:30Can I watch TV blindly?tell tell ... ?

This language is weird !Unknownnoreply@blogger.com12tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2664081448722942912.post-85677410130992252762009-07-03T20:36:00.007+05:302012-03-10T19:27:06.266+05:30Things with wings...

... are fluttering in my life just now.

#1 There are tiny ochre-y coloured butterflies in my pseudo-garden which are fast, and hard to photograph. A few days back it had rained heavily ... and after that, i caught these tiny wonders sitting very peacefully on the purple wild flowers, sucking nectar. I went really close to them and they didn't seem to mind me or my camera at all ! Got some really cool shots of them :) You can see them HERE.

#2 I now have a pigeon in my life... Exactly how it came to us is a long story and so shall be skipped. The important thing is...it's a pigeon with an attitude. And why not? After all, it's a real live Masakali pigeon! (Picture) ...and he's beautiful. (Dad thinks it's a 'he') We're planning on calling him "Gutur" .. like in "guturgoo". He's all white and fluffy and can't fly much. I thought he couldn't fly at all until i found him sitting on my table and looking at me from above after I gave up looking for him under my bed! Teeheehee.
Now the problem is, we also have a cat. He doesn't stay with us, but visits us as many times a day as he feels hungry. And a pigeon ... would be a good meal. ... which means I have to be extra cautious and remember to shut the door everytime i leave the room. (Ahem. Won't be a problem. Elephant never forgets.)

.... and getting awesomer by the minute! I mean this in the context of photography.

(POST FOR JUNE 1ST)

What i think i actually mean .... is that I'm THOROUGLY ENJOYING all the time that i'm spending with my camera these days. All the trials, errors, blunders, disasters... and the rare good shots! I'm learning new things with every shot ... or so i'd like to believe. ;)

An importing thing i learned, which helped solve a lot of problems, was the importance of natural light. Its so much easier to take pictures outdoors. Especially since it also solves the problem of shaky hands.

Just now, since i'm mostly at home, i have to be content with taking macro shots of the phool-patti around... Sometimes portraits too, which i totally suck at. (Tinni takes awesome portraits.) But its fun to do marco shots and i think i'm getting better at them!

I've been going to our farm house/factory frequently. There's a lot of nature photography to do there, again mostly macro in my case. But it is a lot of fun. At this time of the year, its pretty bright even at 5p.m. and its almost the perfect time for photography.
Oh! i saw i real live snake there today! It was small. 1.5-2 feet only. But the lady who works there said it's poisonous. She said they call it 'harharia saanp'.

This month, i'm planning to take as many photos as i can and upload at least 3 photos a week on my Flickr and Deviantart accounts. If you happen to see them, do give me your views - i appreciate criticism!

Btw, there are loads of people with unbelievable amount of talent on these sites. It's a real honour to see their work ... and learn from it .. coz copying them is just not possible... real geniuses!!

----------------------------------

Enough about this now. Time for a celebration. Go get me one. Coz i got another awaaarrrdd ! :D Thanks Mads for this one ! :D

----------------------------------

That's it from me for now.
Until next time ....
This is her on the trampoline.

This cute kid has all the qualities to make it big in the music industry. Makes her own music and lyrics.

Here's a masterpiece from her -- "tu meri hathodi pyaas pyaas, tu aa gai mann ko raas raas..."
:)

We went out for dinner yesterday. There . . .
Reema ( to the waiter) : Excuse me, mujhe straws chahiye.
(to us) : Main itne saare straws loongi ki 'excuse me' ke paas se saare khatam ho jayenge.
---- Yes, she thinks waiters are called 'excuse me' !!
Tried to copy those electric shock like dance moves to perfection. . . And sang along too. Of course without understanding the lyrics.

And I'm so glad I didn't. ;)

This isn't the gutar-gutar, mirchi-lagi variety. Nor the Sutta, Mini-skirt (ugh!) type.

It is a class apart.
An absolutely new level of insanity, vulgarity, and nonsense - weaved into deep, beautiful words.
And one of the few childhood faves that continues to remain on the favourites list even now, as an *ahem* adult.

Ladies and gentlemen!!
