Its a song I listened to endlessly as a kid. . . Tried to copy those electric shock like dance moves to perfection. . . And sang along too.Of course without understanding the lyrics.
And I'm so glad I didn't. ;)
This isn't the gutar-gutar, mirchi-lagi variety. Nor the Sutta, Mini-skirt (ugh!) type.
It is a class apart. An absolutely new level of insanity, vulgarity, and nonsense - weaved into deep, beautiful words. And one of the few childhood faves that continues to remain on the favourites list even now, as an *ahem* adult.
Ladies and gentlemen!! Presenting..!!! THE song...
Muqabala SubhanAllah Laila oho laila
apna kafila jab pyaar se chala logon ka dil jala yaaron ka dil mila mohobbat ka yehi silsila (oley o!)
Muqala Muqabala laila oho laia Muqabala SubhanAllah Laila oho laila

"Part of us is always the observer, and no matter what, it observes. It watches us. It does not care if we are happy or unhappy, if we are sick or well, if we live or die. It’s only job is to sit there on our shoulder and pass judgment on whether we are worthwhile human beings." - Richard Bach ( The Bridge Across Forever )
